Communicable Disease

The Oneida County Health Department is responsible for the prevention, mitigation, and control of communicable diseases in Oneida County, as outlined in Wisconsin State Statute Chapter 252.

We work in collaboration with local healthcare providers and community agencies to conduct ongoing surveillance of communicable diseases. Our staff routinely follow up with community members to investigate cases, helping to prevent, suppress, and control emerging diseases and outbreaks.

The Health Department also partners with the Wisconsin Department of Health Services to analyze disease trends and patterns. This includes identifying sources of illness, understanding how diseases spread, and determining effective ways to stop transmission.

If you believe you may have a communicable disease, please contact your healthcare provider.
