Communicable Disease

Oneida County Health Department is responsible for the prevention, mitigation and control of communicable diseases in Oneida County, under Wisconsin State Statute Chapter 252.

We collaborate with local providers and agencies, conducting ongoing surveillance of communicable disease in Oneida County.  Staff routinely conduct follow-up investigations with community members to prevent, suppress and control emerging diseases and outbreaks in the community.  The health department analyzes information with Wisconsin Department of Health Services to identify trends and patterns of illness, including the source of the illness, ways the illness is spread and what stops spread of the illness.
